Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos is arguably one of the world’s best defender following his display in the Champions League final match between Madrid and Liverpool in which his side won 3-1.
Ramos tactically removed Liverpool’s playmaker Mohammed Salah in a manner that did not earn him any card, and the Egyptian who tried to continue was later seen crying like a baby.
A replay of the tackle clearly shows that Ramos rough-handled the Liverpool forward, but lots of technicalities were involved in the approach making it impossible for the Spaniard to be cautioned in the game.
Ramos who has earned the highest number of red card as a defender in his career, knew the implications of getting a red card in that match but was good at ensuring no foul play was detected.
No doubt, the removal of Salah weakened the attack of Liverpool and Madrid got the boost they needed to pursue their third European title in three years which they eventually achieved.
Ramos who captained his side to victory in the clash also holds a 7 consecutive record in appearance on the FIFAPro World XI.
