Super Eagles Drop In FIFA Ranking Despite Overtaking Indomitable Lions

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved downwards on the FIFA ranking table released for the month of September on Thursday by the world governing football body to be rated 44th in the latest ranking.

The Nigerian men national team were rated 38th position in the August ranking alongside Greece, but are now 44th on the table.

Though the Super Eagles dropped by becoming one of the worst movers (six points backwards), they are however ahead of African champions Cameroon, who now trail them by one point and were rated 45th position in the current ranking released in September.

Cameroon were rated 35th in the previous edition, and have now dropped after they had a poor outing at the FIFA Confederations Cup in June this year.

Egypt (30) top Africa on the ranking table, followed by Tunisia (31), Senegal (33), Congo DR (42), Nigeria (44) and Cameroon (45) respectively.
