Table Tennis: Nigeria Beat Host Country Australia To Face England In Semifinal

GOLD COAST – Nigeria set up a semifinal battle with England on Monday 9 April after an impressive quarterfinal victory over hosts Australia, with the African nation eventually winning 3-1.

The victory came courtesy of Bode Abiodun, Olajide Omotayo and Segun Toriola.

Nigeria’s best player, Quadri ARUNA, is not yet on the Gold Coast as he fulfills his club commitments with Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon in the European Champions League.

But he will arrive in time for the semifinal match against England and could give the Nigerians the boost they need.

“One of our players, Quadri ARUNA, is joining us tomorrow and should (boost) us in our bid,” Bode ABIODUN said.
