The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be playing host to the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on Friday September 1, 2017 at the 30,000 capacity seater Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Akwa Ibom Uyo in a Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier clash.
The CAF Group B Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier match will give an automatic ticket to the winner in the group to fill one of the five berths given to CAF in the forthcoming FIFA event.
Nigeria who are currently on top of the table with six points from two victories against Algeria and Zambia, will need an outright win against the current African and five-time African Champions Cameroon.
The win is to keep their qualification hopes alive, as a draw may put their qualification into jeopardy, meaning they must beat Zambia and Algeria in their remaining matches to get an automatic slot.
On the other hand, the Indomitable Lions are yet to get a win, they trail the Super Eagles with two points after securing two draws against Zambia and Algeria respectively, and will be hoping to get a win when they visit Akwa Ibom on Friday.
Cameroon are currently in top form, having taken part in more competitive matches than Nigeria. They won the AFCON title in February 2017, and also took part in the FIFA Confederations Cup in June this year, where they left after their group stage matches.
