Manchester United came up with an impressive second half performance to overturn a first half lead by City at the Etihad stadium by getting a 3-2 victory.
Paul Pogba scored twice in a space of three minutes to level up for United after City’s first half lead in the 53 and 55 minutes respectively, before Smalling sealed up victory for United in the 69th minutes to ensure they get victory at the Etihad Stadium.
The victory for United means City’s dream of being crowned champions on April 7th at the Etihad stadium will now be delayed, as they will need to win their next match against Tottenham at Wembley and pray United lose for them to be crowned champion next weekend.
Alternatively, City may also have to ensure they win their next match and wait again at Etihad to win and celebrate their party irrespective of the outcome of United’s result.
The defeat also means Pep Guardiola’s side have lost two games in a row for the first time this season, after their 3-0 loss to Liverpool in the first-leg of the champions league.
