Barcelona are set to renew their champions league rivalry with Chelsea as they arrive London ahead of their Round of 16 clash with The Blues.
Both teams have met a total of 12 times in the champions league (Chelsea W4, D5, L3, Barca W3, D5, L4) but it was only on one occasion that they met in the group stage in 2006.
Barcelona are currently in top form as they have remained unbeaten in their last seven matches in all competitions, recording 5 wins and 2 draws which is a big boost for the Catalan side ahead of the clash.
On the other hand, Chelsea whose manager is currently under pressure of being sacked have struggled in their last seven matches winning 4 and losing 3 key matches which have made them drop points in the domestic league as well as crashing out of the Carabao Cup.
This makes this meeting look fairy-like as Conte who is working hard to retain his position at Stamford Bridge would be looking up to shock the Catalan side.
So far, Barcelona have scored 10 goals in their last seven matches and have conceded only 1 goal, while Chelsea who have scored 16 goals in their last seven matches have conceded 9 goals, making it a bit difficult to know the direction of the game.
However, Barcelona have recorded only one victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the Champions League while Chelsea’s victories against Barca have always been at Stamford Bridge, giving making the situation a bit tough for the Catalans.
Unfortunately for Chelsea, Lionel Messi will be looking up to break his goal drought against Chelsea in the clash and maybe he could just do that when both sides meet at Stamford Bridge.
