Watford Beat Tottenham To Set New Premier League Record

Watford came from behind against Tottenham to win their opening four games of a league campaign for the first time in 30 years and maintain their perfect start in this season against a top four.

The victory is Watford’s first league win over Tottenham since May 1987, and it ends a run of 12 league games without a victory over Spurs.

In their previous league matches this season, Watford had already managed their shown their best ever  by defeating Crystal Palace, Burnley and Brighton with relative ease, but they proved their position in the early league table was not a fluke as they matched Tottenham stride for stride.

Although it may seem too early but the table does not mislead. The result is a brilliant start from Gracia’s side who have recorded four wins from four matches.

Watford’s manager Deeney told BBC Sport: “Four wins out of four is a huge achievement for a club of our size,”.

“We’re not naive to think we’re going to go on and win the league, we’ve got a lot to work on but we have an added boost and confidence from this result,” he added.
