Watford Earn Important Three Points As Heurelho Gomes Emerge As Man of The Match

Watford beat West Brom at home by a lone goal after 90 minutes of play, but special thanks goes to Watford’s goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, who saved two penalties and eventually emerged as Man of the match.

Watson scored for Watford in the 27′ minutes of play to put the visitors on the driver’s seat, but it was the Brazilian’s heroic performance in goal-post that actually gave  them the win.

The save did not just earn the visitors three points, but it also makes the Brazilian goalkeeper the first goalkeeper to save two penalties in two different premier league matches.

The first of the feat was while Gomes was playing for Tottenham in 2010, against Sunderland when he stopped Darren Bent from scoring twice, and the second being in the match between West Brom and Watford, when the Brazilian completed the feat for the second time, denying Berahinho two second-half penalties and maximum three points in their home match.

Watford became eventually winners, and the two saves earned the visitors the needed three points.
