Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the arrival of Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in a video interview, after his side was humiliated at Swansea City in a premier league match.
According to reports from Mirror Sport the Gabon striker was at Arsenal’s training ground on Tuesday to thrash out terms on a £180,000-a-week deal ahead of his £60m move from Borussia Dortmund.
The news could be a right guess and a relief for Arsenal fans who suspected the landing of a private jet at Luton Airport yesterday from Germany.
Though the post-match clip has since been deleted from the official website of the club but footage has emerged on social media from the apparent interview with the club’s official website.
The reporter asks: “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is an Arsenal player, you must be delighted to get the deal done?”
Wenger replies: “Yes, it is good news. We need people who can give us more offensive power.
“He has a big challenge in front of him. He wants to do well in the Premier League.
“It is absolutely good news for us.
“His pace, his finishing. The quality of his runs. His huge physical capacity, that will be important in the Premier League.”
