The Chipolopolo of Zambia defeated the Desert Warriors of Algeria before their home crowd at the Stade Chahid-Hamlaou, getting six points from two consecutive matches and moving them closer to Group leaders Nigeria.
Daka scored the only goal of the match for Zambia at the 66th minutes to give the Chipolopolo a vital win and restores the team’s confidence ahead of their clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria in October.
The win means Zambia who are now seven points behind Nigeria, will need to beat Nigeria at least 2-0 to be on top of the table when they visit in October, while a draw will practically be in favour of the Super Eagles.
Super Eagles on the other hand will need an outright win, to kill Zambia’s ambitious quest to pick the sole ticket of the group
The hope of qualifying in Group G is now between Nigeria and Zambia, as Algeria and Cameroon are already eliminated from the Group following their performances.
While Zambia will be hoping to get a win and wait for the last day to know their fate, only Nigeria can give away the ticket at this point if they lose to Zambia.
