Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has signed a contract extension for three more seasons at the Santiago Bernebeu ahead of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona.
Zidane who led Madrid to win the champions league back-to-back is the club’s fourth most decorated manager winning six titles in his first 20 months in charge since January when he took over.
Zidane who is happy at Madrid is almost set have his salary reviewed from 4.35 million euros a year to somewhere in the region of eight million according to AS. However, some of that amount will be performance based and paid in the form of bonuses, as is the case with the players.
Real Madrid will surely be happy with the calculated risk which they took in January 2015 when Rafael Benitez was fired and Zidane was named as his replacement despite his lack of experience in team management.
