Zlatan Ibrahimhovic Fails To Rescue Sweden, Ends International Career In Low-Key

Zlatan Ibrahimhovic failed to rescue his country from the group stage of the Euro 2016 championship, as Sweden took a bow out of the tournament, at a point when the Swedish forward had made up his mind to quit the round-leather game as far as international football is concerned.

The 34-year old former Paris Saint German forward announced his retirement from international football before the final group match against Belgium, but was unable to help his side pull through, as Belgium defeated Sweden 1-0 to qualify from the group.

Zlatan Ibrahimhovic ended his international career with Sweden in a low and insignificant manner, without anything  positive for his nation to remember him for in the Euro 2016. Helping his side to progress to at least the knockout stage would have left a mark in the memories of his fans, but it was quite unfortunate things went the negative.

A win for Sweden would have kept the hope of the team alive, as it would have given them an edge to at least progress as one of the best losers, while Belgium would have lost out totally.
